Faculty survey in progress

he Academic Affairs Committee of the Faculty Senate has distributed surveys to all full-time faculty members in preparation for a report on the state of the faculty at the University.

The deadline to return completed surveys is Friday, April 20.

Covering issues involving faculty morale, faculty recruitment and retention, and the reputation of the University, the survey is based in part on the job satisfaction and opinion sections of the 1999 National Survey of Postsecondary Faculty by the U.S. Department of Education. This allows the results to be compared to national data.

Faculty members should return the survey in the envelope provided to:

A summary of the results and an analysis will be presented to the Faculty Senate and to the Academic Affairs Committee of the University Board of Trustees. Findings also will be available to faculty online through the Faculty Senate Web site.
