"The Coffins of Pa-debehu-Aset: Decoding the Life of an Ancient Egyptian Official." Joyce L. Haynes of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, speaks on an extremely rare, highly decorated pair of Egyptian coffins from the 4th century BCE. Haynes was consulting curator for the acquisition, one of the most significant in gallery history. (The inner coffin, called anthropoid for its human shape, is currently on view.) Free with Gallery admission. Auditorium, 7:30 p.m. June 17--Family Day. "A Horse of a Different Color." Meet some of the artists in "Horses on Parade," a city-wide art project sponsored by High Falls Brewery. The family day event also includes hands-on art activities, storytelling, tours, and a performance of Umoja: The Magical Horse by the Kuumba Kids. Guest of honor is artist Calvin Hubbard, whose Umoja Horse was underwritten by the Young Friends of MAG and the Gallery Council. Admission charge; free to members and children 5 and under. 1-4 p.m. June 19--Lecture. "Temporal Imagery in the American Landscape." The speaker is Rosemary Welsh, associate professor of art history and chair of the division of fine arts, Wells College. Free with gallery admission. Auditorium, 7:30 p.m.

A mediator is a neutral third party who assists individuals or couples in reaching mutually acceptable resolutions to their issues. The focus of this talk is on the process, effectiveness, and appropriate referrals for mediated solutions. Speaker Roberta Miller is a nationally trained divorce and family mediator with nine years of experience and is president of the Rochester Association of Family Mediators.
