Strong's talking horse cheers visitors

Anything's Possible
"Anything's Possible from the Horse's Mouth"

New York City has cows, Cincinnati has pigs, Toronto has moose, Buffalo has--what else--buffalo, and now Rochester has horses.

As part of the Horses on Parade campaign sponsored by the High Falls Brewing Co., Strong Health presents its equine entry "Anything's Possible from the Horse's Mouth."

The fiberglass horse, decorated by Pittsford artist Lisa Lange, is coated with pearlized autobody paint and covered in upbeat slogans. Visitors to Strong Memorial Hospital's lobby can also hear the horse speak by pressing a button.

The concept was designed to help promote Project Believe, Strong Health's effort to make Rochester the healthiest community in America by the year 2020. Lange collaborated with Mary Dakin, assistant director of public relations for marketing at the Medical Center, to develop the horse's theme and design.

"I was very excited about the project from the beginning," says Lange. "The goal of my art has always been to make people smile. I wanted to put a positive twist on the project. Many people visiting the hospital are coping with difficult situations. The artwork is a way to cheer people up and remind them that life is a wonderful gift."

Proceeds from the Horses on Parade campaign and auction in September will benefit local charities, including the Children's Hospital at Strong. For more information about Horses on Parade, visit www.highfalls.com/hop.
