Employment Center opens August 27

The University's Office of Human Resources will open a new Employment Center August 27 that will combine all employment processes, with the exception of nursing recruitment, for the University, Highland Hospital, and the Temporary Services Program.

The center, located at the corner of Mt. Hope and Elmwood Avenues in the Towne House Building, Suite 202, is designed to offer high visibility and easy access to potential job candidates.

"The University and Highland Hospital have worked closely to develop the Employment Center with the best practices and the expertise of staff from each organization," said Chuck Murphy, director of human resources. "We want to continue our commitment to providing a high level of service to our customers."

The new center will provide University offices with a full range of employment-related services, including processing requisitions, posting jobs, referring resumes to the appropriate offices, and completing hiring procedures.

Job vacancy listings will continue to be available and the union-bidding process will continue to be handled in the River Campus and Medical Center offices. University Human Resources assistants and recruiters will retain their current telephone numbers and e-mail addresses. Nursing recruitment offices at Strong Memorial Hospital and Highland Hospital will remain in place and be unaffected by these changes.

Additionally, the Medical Center Human Resources Office and Benefits Division will have a shared reception area on the ground floor of the Medical Center. Those staff phone numbers and e-mail addresses also will remain unchanged.

Questions about the changes may be directed to the Office of Human Resources at River Campus, x5-3874; Medical Center, x5-2537; or the Employment Center, x5-4989.
