'7 Habits' author visits Rochester

In a program sponsored by the Simon School, motivational speaker Stephen Covey brought his full-day leadership seminar entitled "Leadership Is a Choice: The Four Roles of a Leader" to Rochester on Tuesday, August 28. The event was part of the Covey Lessons in Leadership series.

Covey is best known for his best-selling book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, which provides tips for achieving personal and professional empowerment and is ranked as the top international best seller by The New York Times. His most recent book is Living the Seven Habits.


Medical Center offers Tai Chi

Learn how to move, how to relax deeply, and how to become more centered in the present moment. Sound interesting? The Medical Center Athletic Club is offering Tai Chi sessions--the flowing and graceful movement art that originated as a martial art in China. The eight sessions will take place every Wednesday from 6:15-7:30 p.m. beginning September 19. Registration fee required. To find out more, contact Heather Van Orden, x5-2706.


Research participants needed

Pneumonia vaccine--Volunteers are needed for a study of an investigational pneumonia vaccine. Participants should be 65 years and older with five or more years since immunization with the licensed pneumonia vaccine. Compensation and valet parking available. For more information, call x3-3990.
Cold prevention--Volunteers are needed for a clinical research study to evaluate an investigational medication for prevention of colds. Participants should be healthy adults between the ages of 18 and 74. The study requires seven visits over a 12 week period. Compensation is available. For more information, call x3-3990.
