Vaccine
SHOT IN THE ARM--Lead investigator for the Rochester portion of a study to test the effectiveness of diluted smallpox vaccine, John Treanor (right), associate professor of medicine, administers smallpox vaccinations as a nationwide study gets under way. Funded by the National Institutes of Health in reaction to recent bioterrorism attacks, the study examines whether the supply of the traditional smallpox vaccine can be extended.
