UHS offers flu shot clinics

University Health Service is offering two flu shot clinics on campus. The clinics are open to students, staff, faculty, and other members of the University community. The cost is $14. The first clinic is offered on December 4 from 4:30-6 p.m. in Susan B. Anthony Residence Hall, in the hallway near Danforth Dining Center. The second clinic is offered on December 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Gowen Room of Wilson Commons. For additional information, call x3-5770.

Celebrate honored traditions

The Friends of the University of Rochester Libraries invite all to attend the annual holiday reading and music performance on Wednesday, December 5, in the Welles-Brown Room in Rush Rhees Library. The event includes a reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by an hour of readings presented by past presidents of the Friends. Dennis Monroe will accompany the readings on classical guitar and Renaissance lute. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call x5-4461.

Soccer camp offered Dec. 26-28

The University is offering a Holiday Soccer Camp for boys and girls ages 7-14 on December 26-28. Camp Directors Chris Apple, men's soccer coach, and Terry Gurnett, women's soccer coach, will teach individual ball skills, team tactics, and position play. Activities include scrimmages, films, demonstrations, and practice time. Players will be grouped according to age and ability. Boys' sessions are from 9 a.m.-noon; girls' sessions are from 1-4 p.m. For additional information, contact Apple at x5-5630 or Gurnett at x5-6698.

Holiday closings announced

The following University Finance offices will be closed on Monday, December 24: Bursar's Office (River Campus), x5-6606; Payroll Office (PERC), x5-2040; Accounts Payable, x5-3483; Sponsored Project Accounting, x5-6449; Finance, x5-8567. For additional information, contact the department using the phone numbers listed above.

  • Towne House, Suite 260, will not have pick-up/drop-off service available on December 24.

  • The School of Nursing will be closed December 24, 25, and January 1.

    Get into a health kick

    Traditional Karate lessons are offered at the MC Athletic Club on Mondays from 6:15-7:30 p.m. and are open both to members and non-members. Classes are individualized and include belt promotions based on the Goshin Jutsu style of karate. For more information, call x5-2437.

    Warner School presents programs

    The Warner School will hold a "Brown Bag Lunch" on the educational programs offered through the school on Monday, December 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wilson Commons, Stackel Room. For additional information, contact Lisa Weiss, x5-3969.
