Educators explore school funding
Feature speaker Michael Rebell, a lawyer and president of the Campaign for Fiscal Equity--a nonprofit corporation of parent organizations, community school boards, concerned citizens, and advocacy groups that seek to reform the state's education funding system--will discuss how to prepare the next generation of capable citizens by teaching them well in public schools A panel of local leaders will respond to Rebell's remarks. They are: Dan Drmacich, principal of School Without Walls; Thomas Frey, a lawyer and former Monroe County executive; Ronald J. Mendrick, a lawyer and past president of the Monroe County School Boards Association; Sandra Parker, president of the Industrial Management Council; Andrew Ray, principal of James Madison High School of Excellence; and Miriam Vazquez, principal of Eugenio Maria DeHostos Charter School.
