RE: River Campus Parking

Please note that we expect many visitors to the River Campus during the week of October 7, and anticipate some impact for parking in certain campus lots.

In particular, two events on Wednesday, October 9--an Optics conference and a special memorial service--will require that a number of spaces in Library Lot and Trustee Lot be set aside for attendees. Those who regularly park in these areas may be asked to park at other locations. Shuttle services will be offered to those who are asked to park at any distance. For those affected by changes, please allow additional time for parking.

Meliora Weekend takes place October 11-13 (Friday through Sunday). Significant numbers of visitors are expected to attend weekend events, but general parking will be available.

We will do everything we can to accommodate everyone, and we hope for your understanding during this busy period.

Additional parking information:

Minimal disruption to staff parking on the River Campus is expected during Meliora Weekend. For those attending events during the day on Friday and throughout the weekend, note the following important information:

  • The Information Booth on Wilson Boulevard will be open 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Friday, 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.

  • After participants enter the River Campus, parking attendants and signs will direct them to open lots. If parking lots on campus reach capacity, parking representatives will direct traffic to additional parking in the South Campus lots.

  • Shuttle service will be provided to and from off-campus lots throughout the weekend. Shuttles will run on Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • A transportation help desk will be available in the lobby of CLARC in Rush Rhees Library. Hours are Friday, 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. For additional transportation information, call x5-RIDE.
