Eastman to lead international project
"This is an unprecedented opportunity for collaboration and exchange," says Eastman School Dean James Undercofler, who will head the U.S. delegation. "The Eastman School is proud to take a leadership role in this exciting project." The Music Study, Mobility, and Accountability Project brings together five music-teaching institutions in a collaborative project to compare expectations for student achievement and consider common international efforts to advance educational quality. Undercofler will travel to Nova Scotia in November for the first official meeting of the project partners that include the University of Houston, the North Netherlands Conservatoire, the Malmö Academy of Music in Sweden, the Royal College of Music in London as well as the National Association of Schools of Music and the Association of European Conservatoires. Eastman's participation is funded in part through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
