NOBLE NEEDLEWORK--A group of more than 15 faculty, staff, and students, equipped with knitting needles and balls of yarn, are making Rochester a warmer place for those in need. The group, which meets once a week at the Interfaith Chapel, is making a holiday donation of handmade mittens, scarves, and caps to the Sojourner House, a transitional home for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Above, Elyse Gilbert '03 (left) and Zoe Sylvester '05, both from Denver, Colo., practice their knit and purl stitches, which they use to create childsize mittens. |
