Tai chi classes startingA six-week tai chi course begins April 16 at the Medical Center Athletic Club. The classes will be held on Wednesday nights from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. The cost is $55 for nonmembers, and registration is required by April 11. All faculty and staff welcome. Feeling creative?The School of Nursing and the Division of Medical Humanities are offering a $200 prize to the University student (graduate or undergraduate), staff, and faculty member who submits the best creative work in any medium--poetry, fiction, fine arts, photography, or personal essay--dealing with issues of human values in health care. Send submissions, due by Friday, May 2, at 4 p.m., either to Andrea Ehmann, Division of Medical Humanities, MED 1-6321; to Patty Guinan, School of Nursing, Helen Wood Hall, 2nd floor, Room 2W-205; or by intramural mail to Madeline Schmitt, P.O. Gallery offers docent classThis fall, for the first time since 1998, the Memorial Art Gallery will offer a docent training class for those interested in volunteering to lead gallery tours. An informational meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 3, 7 p.m., in the gallery's Bausch & Lomb Parlor. Applicants must be gallery members and must be willing to make a multiyear commitment that includes yearlong training one day a week from September 2003 to June 2004 and a three-year commitment to the program, including two mandatory orientations a month and a minimum of 25 tours a year. Participants wantedEndometriosis--The University is seeking participants for a five-month study requiring 20 healthy women who have a diagnosis of endometriosis and who continue to experience pelvic pain due to endometriosis. Women interested in participating must be at least 18 years old. Each participant will receive $20 reimbursement after each monthly office visit. Participants will be using the medication mifespristone. Call Emily at 341-6915 for details.
