Sessions outline homebuying incentives
Cosponsored by the University and its banking partners, the programs offer a range of incentives, including closing cost assistance. Representatives from JPMorgan Chase, Advantage Federal Credit Union, CitiBank, M&T Bank, and HSBC will be available at the sessions listed below to discuss the options. HSBC, the latest participant in this effort, is offering closing costs assistance of up to $3,500 for University employees purchasing homes in HUD-designated low-to-moderate income and/or "majority/minority" census tracts within the City of Rochester. Additionally, HSBC will provide the same closing cost assistance for any University employee whose income is at or below 80 percent of the HUD-designated median income limit for Monroe County (currently $45,520) to purchase a home anywhere within the City of Rochester. Loans originated under this program will be at the current market rate. Another option available under this initiative is a discounted interest rate. For more information, call the Benefits Office at x5-3696.
