Phelps addresses SARS concerns

Due to continuing concerns by world and national health officials about the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak, Provost Charles E. Phelps has issued a memo to graduating students concerning Commencement exercises.

The University has requested that families or individuals from "travel advisory" areas as identified by the World Health Organization consider not visiting campus for Commencement exercises.

In addition, students and others visiting campus from "SARS-affected areas" for other reasons in the coming months are asked to notify University Health Services at x5-2662 immediately upon arrival.

For the latest information on SARS or to read the memo from Phelps, visit www.rochester.edu/working/emergency/sars.html.
