At Memorial Art Gallery

Gallery Highlights Tour--Free with admission. Meet at the admission desk. June 19, 26, 6:30 p.m.; June 27, 29, 2 p.m.

Exhibition Tour--Free with admission. This tour highlights Leaving for the Country: George Bellows at Woodstock. June 20, 22 2 p.m.

Through June 22--Leaving for the Country: George Bellows at Woodstock. Showcases 75 of the American master's paintings from the period between 1920 and 1925.

Through July 6--The Prints of George Bellows: An American Master in Black and White. The exhibition includes a selection of lithographic prints. Lithographs by Bellow's printmaker, Bolton Brown, will also be represented.

Through August 15--Print Club of Rochester. This juried show features more than 40 recent works by club members, including woodcuts, linocuts, intaglio prints, lithographs, and prints created using nontoxic methods.

Through 2003--New Acquisitions for a New Millennium. Showcases 21 masterworks acquired during the last four years, including the Inner Coffin of Pa-debehu-Aset, an Egyptian official of the fourth century B.C.E.

At Rush Rhees Library

WWII
WAR ON THE HOME FRONT--Selections from posters, magazines, booklets, and other materials targeted to civilians in the late 1930s and 1940s are now on view in the Friedlander Lobby of Rush Rhees Library. Curated by Robert Verbsky '03, the exhibition Could You Live in a Total War? is free and continues through Friday, August 15.

Through September 30--Writings of Consequence: The Art of John A. Williams. This exhibition displays prime documents from John Williams, author of The Man Who Cried I Am, including correspondence, manuscript notes and drafts, memorabilia, and photographs. Rare Books and Special Collections Library at Rush Rhees Library. Free and open to the public.

June 16--Infant Care and Safety. Expectant parents learn the basics of preparing the home and family for a new baby. Class covers newborn care, feeding, keeping baby healthy, and dealing with illness and injury. Fee: $50/couple. Registration required. 7 to 9 p.m.

June 18--My Body, My Responsibility. Debut showing of film that addresses heath care issues for deaf women. For more details, call x5-6785. Deaf Wellness Center, Strong Memorial Hospital, Room 1-9041, 6:30 p.m.

June 21--Breastfeeding. Expectant parents learn the basics of breastfeeding in this class taught by certified lactation consultants. Fathers welcome. Class covers getting off to a good start during the hospital stay, managing common concerns of the first few weeks, planning for a return to work or school, choosing a pump and other supplies, and support group information. Fee: $35/couple. Registration required. 1 to 4 p.m.

June 30--How Do I Choose the Right Car Seat? Learn important safety tips about how to purchase and properly install a child's car seat. Seminar by a National Traffic Safety Board-certified technician. Free. Registration required. 7 to 9 p.m.
