Get tips on health and wellness

The Medical Center Fitness and Wellness Center is sponsoring a health and wellness fair on Tuesday, January 20. Faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend and have blood pressure, pulse rate, cholesterol, and vision measured by health professionals. There will also be information on acupuncture, massage, and chiropractics as well as samples of organic foods from Lori's Natural Foods. Representatives from Health CheckPoint, the American Cancer Society, Men of Color Health Awareness, Greater Rochester Adult Smoking Prevention, and other groups will be on hand to answer questions. There will also be the opportunity to tour the Fitness and Wellness Center and see short demonstrations of programs offered there.

Admission is free. Attendees can register for a chance to win several raffle prizes. The event begins at 11 a.m. and continues through 2 p.m. at the Fitness and Wellness Center (G-5680). Call x5-2437 for directions or follow the footprints on the Medical Center ground floor.

Program targets teen scholars

Registration is open for Rochester Scholars, a precollege academic program for middle and high school students sponsored by the Office of Special Programs and Part-time Studies. Sessions will be held February 16-20 and April 12-16. Tuition discounts are available for children and grandchildren of faculty, staff, and alumni.
