March 4--What's Up. Jessica Marten, curatorial assistant, speaks on Portrait of a Dark-Haired Man Reading the "Genesee Farmer." Lockhart Gallery, 5:30 p.m.

March 4--Lecture: The Harlem Renaissance and the Black Body. Julia Foulkes of New School University in New York City explores how the black body became the focal point of debate during the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s. Offered in conjunction with Black History Month. Free and open to the public. Auditorium, 7:30 p.m.

March 4, 11--Preschool Workshop. Children can enjoy an art project, story reading, and gallery tour, all with a unified theme. For ages 2 1/2 to 5 years with adult. Registration fee required. For reservations, call 473-7720, ext. 3056. Creative Workshop, 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Exhibition Tour--Free with admission. This tour highlights Augustus Saint-Gaudens: American Sculptor of the Guilded Age. March 5, 7, 12, 14, 2 p.m.

Through March 14--Fields and Falls: Images of Rochester. This exhibition includes images that depict Rochester's agricultural resources and waterways.

Through April 11--Augustus Saint-Gaudens: American Sculptor of the Guilded Age. This exhibition features iconic images of America's triumphs and tragedies by the master sculptor known as the "American Michelangelo." Included are 68 works in bronze, plaster, and marble.

Through 2004--Protected for Eternity: The Coffins of Pa-debehu-Aset. This exhibition showcases the lavishly decorated inner coffin of an Egyptian official of the fourth century B.C.E. and other ancient artifacts.

Classes focus on the process of labor, birth, and postpartum; breathing and relaxation techniques; the hospital stay; special situations such as Cesarean birth; and a tour of the Family Maternity Center. March 1, 8--Infant Care and Safety: Classes One and Two. Expectant parents learn the basics of preparing the home and family for a new baby. Fee: $50/couple for three-week mini-series. Registration required. 1 to 3 p.m.

March 2, 6, 9, 13--Exercising for Childbirth. A nonaerobic exercise class that helps stretch and tone the muscles used in labor and birth. Fee required. Registration and health care provider permission required. March 2, 9: 7:15 to 8:15 p.m.; March 6, 13: 9 to 10 a.m.

March 6--Breastfeeding. Expectant parents learn the basics of breastfeeding in this class taught by certified lactation consultants. Fee: $35/mom and support person. Registration required. 9 a.m. to noon.

March 10--Managing Labor Pain. The class discusses all the options from breathing and relaxation to medications and epidurals. Fee: $20/couple. Registration required. 7 to 9 p.m.

March 13--Childbirth Refresher. This three-hour "express" class is for expectant parents who have attended childbirth classes within the past five years. The course reviews the labor and birth process, hospital stay, special situations such as Cesarean birth, breathing and relaxation techniques, and how to prepare brothers and sisters for the new arrival. Fee: $35/couple. Registration required. 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

March 9--Increasing Intimacy and Passion in Your Marriage. Social worker Pam Finger presents ways to find time to spend together and use it wisely in ways that will enrich your relationship.
