MINE MADNESS--Jacob Massey '04 (left) and graduate student Scott Rhodes put their mine-sweeping robot to the test on February 25 during National Engineers Week. The students' team, "Tinny Bubbles," was one of six teams to participate in the competition that challenged students to design and build a robot that could navigate a simulated minefield and clear it of "mines" in less than three minutes. Past Engineers Week competitions have included hovercraft races and designs of magnetic-levitation cars. (See related story.)
