Presidential search committee named

niversity Board of Trustees Chairman G. Robert Witmer Jr. has named the members of the Trustees' Presidential Search Committee and the University Advisory Committee for the search.

In addition to the trustee committee and campus advisory committee, two additional advisory groups--one composed of students from across the University, the other of staff--will be appointed to provide input to the process. The chairs of those advisory groups will sit on the University Advisory Committee, whose members were chosen after consultation with the academic deans and Faculty Senate.

The committees will be working to find a successor to President Jackson, who announced in early March that he would step down as president as of June 30, 2005. Members of the University community are encouraged to offer comments related to the search through the Web site at www.rochester.edu/presidentialsearch.
