Xerox wins University contract
Xerox is expected to offer competitive pricing for its full line of digital products as well as standardized pricing for maintenance. "We believe that Xerox will be able to recommend ways in which departments can consolidate equipment and network more efficiently," says Philip Profeta, director of corporate purchasing for the University. Under the agreement, the University's level of expenditures will depend on the quality and cost of equipment, leasing arrangements, and service. The company will be communicating directly with University departments this spring to tell them about equipment options and to consult on more efficient copying and networking systems. The University has used Xerox's Six Sigma-based Office Document Assessment to analyze document production within selected areas of Strong Memorial Hospital. Additionally, the company's Student Access Management solution is used by Rush Rhees Library to monitor print usage and lower printing costs.
