HELPING HANDS--More than 1,200 freshmen and other volunteers from the University offered their time and labor to help nonprofit groups and agencies in the Rochester area for the 16th year of Wilson Days on August 30 and 31. Among the students participating was Ann Gisinger '07 (above), who fingerprinted Katherine Mohrman (right) at the Seneca Park Zoo as part of a safety program sponsored by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Wilson Days, which bring together faculty, staff, local alumni, and students to perform community service in the city and suburbs, are named for the Joseph C. Wilson family, whose members have been benefactors of the University and the Rochester community. Wilson '31, former president and chairman of Xerox Corp., was an alumnus and philanthropist.
The staff at Currents would like to welcome all returning students and incoming freshmen as they being the new academic year.
This issue marks the return to a biweekly schedule for Currents. Look for the next issue on Monday, September 20. Deadline for submissions is noon, Monday, September 13.
