TWO LIVES IN FOCUS--A new exhibition in Rush Rhees Library tells the story of a marriage through both images and words. On view in Pictorial Celebration of a Marriage: Two Lives with a Camera are 46 images captured by Robert Doty, professor of neurobiology and anatomy--including the one pictured above--and the recently published Man and Woman, War and Peace 1941 to 1951: A Dual Autobiography that includes correspondences between him and his late wife Elizabeth Doty. May 26--Artist Lecture: Joy Adams. A lecture on her painting series "Mad Sally and her Marvelous Adventures" by this two-time Rochester Finger Lakes award winner. Auditorium, 6:30 p.m.

May 28, 29, June 4, 5, 11, 12--Wendell Castle Video. View Tom Muir Wilson's award-winning film on The Music Stand, the 1964 work that brought Castle national acclaim. Offered in conjunction with the exhibition Wendell Castle in Rochester. Green Room, 3 p.m.

June 5--Remembering Elizabeth Herdle. Isabel Herdle, curator emeritus of the gallery and daughter of the first director, died last October at the age of 99. On what would have been her 100th birthday, admission is free and visitors may view a special exhibit of Herdle memorabilia and gifts of art. Noon to 5 p.m.

Through July 31--A High Style: Alex Katz's Alex and Ada Portfolio. Arriving on the New York art scene in the 1950s, Alex Katz rejected the popular Abstract Expressionist movement and gained a respected position within the contemporary art world. This 1990 portfolio of eight prints is based on earlier paintings of the artist and his wife Ada. Lockhart Gallery.

Through June 26--The View From Here: Contemporary Russian and American Screenprints. Includes 70 prints by 21 leading Russian and American artists.

Through 2005--Wendell Castle in Rochester. Features furniture and sculpture along with preliminary drawings and photos of some of Castle's corporate and public commissions.

River Campus

Through June 17--Pictorial Celebration of a Marriage: Two Lives with a Camera. Includes 46 images taken by Robert Doty, professor of neurobiology and anatomy. Through July 12--George Eastman and His University: How the Relationship Grew. Celebrates the 150th anniversary of Eastman's birth and centers on his relationship with University President Rush Rhees. Great Hall, Rush Rhees Library.

Through October--A Nation at War. The display, which commemorates the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II, features letters, drawings, photographs, and memorabilia all drawn from the department's collections. Department of Rare Books and Special Collections, Rush Rhees Library.

June 5, 12--Orientation Class and Walking Tour. Learn what to expect during a hospital stay and take a walking tour of obstetrics services. Meet at information desk in main lobby, 3 to 4 p.m.
