FORWARD THINKING--Engineers, architects, and others from across the state gathered at the Medical Center June 9 to learn more about Laboratories for the 21st Century, a program developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy to encourage development of sustainable and energy-efficient laboratories.

Paul Tankel, University architect, opened the day-long course hosted by the University, along with Eastman Kodak and M/E Engineering. "It's about shifting the way we think about energy consumption. . . . We have a great opportunity to make a change. This is really where we start," said Tankel.
