New trustees elected
our prominent business, financial services, and health care leaders have been elected to the Board of Trustees. They are Richard Handler ’83, chairman and CEO of Jefferies & Co.; Nathan Frederick Moser ’75, chairman and CEO of National Envelope Corporation; William Peck ’60M (MD), ’00 (HNR), former executive vice chancellor for Medical Affairs at Washington University in St. Louis and current director of Midwest Healthcare Equities; and Michael Rosen ’82, ’83S (MBA), cochairman and CEO of Context Capital Management, an investment company he founded in 2001.
Handler joined Jefferies in 1990 as an executive vice president and became CEO of the investment bank and securities firm of Jefferies Group and of its principal operating subsidiary Jefferies & Co. in 2001. A year later he was appointed chairman. An economics major at Rochester, Handler earned an M.B.A. from Stanford.
Moser, a political science major as an undergraduate, holds a law degree from Syracuse. He was named executive vice president and CFO in 1996 of National Envelope Corporation, one of the largest companies of its kind. Moser has been chairman and CEO since 2001.
Peck, a former professor of medicine and biochemistry at Rochester, also directs the Center for Health Policy at Washington University, where he oversees investigations into social disparities in health care access and the impact of health care costs on businesses. His academic activities have included research into bone and mineral metabolism and investigations into the causes of osteoporosis and other disorders.
An economics major, Rosen was a partner in Fielding Management Co., founded by Ronald Fielding ’73, ’76S (MBA), before launching his own company. Named the best bond fund manager by Business Week in 1992, Rosen also serves as a director on the board of Entravision Communications Corp.
