President Seligman talks with students

REACHING OUT —President Seligman talks with freshmen Laurel Stewart from Seattle, Dan Pesciotta from Webster, and Margarita Mendoza from California (left to right) on August 27 during Wilson Day, the University's annual community service event. The students, who were lending a hand at Salem United Church of Christ, are a few of the more than 1,000 students, staff, and faculty that volunteered at 62 area sites this year. Strengthening the University's relationship with the local community is one of several issues Seligman says he plans to focus on in the coming months and years. Read more in a Q&A with him inside.
