Hats off to these student achievers
The College Bowl Team, which includes Gordon Arsenoff '06, Daniel Blake '06, Andrew Boardman '06, and Micha Elsner '05, placed second in the National Championship Tournament held in late spring. The team earned a berth in the national finals by winning the regional championship in February. Pamela Barrett '06 won the 2005 Catherine Block Memorial Fund Prize, an award given to female juniors who have shown outstanding ability and achievement in the field of chemistry. Elizabeth Boerman '05, Sarah Greene '05, William Thomas Hildebrandt '05, Ashley Poelma '05, and Caroline Rouse '05 have been named Fulbright Scholars for 2005-2006. Yude Chen '05 and Robert Forties '05 have been selected to receive a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. Suzanne Golisz '05 won the 2005 Janet Howell Clark Prize, an award given to female seniors who have shown great promise and creativity in the field of chemistry. Darby Wade Grant '08 was chosen as a 2005 Cherry Blossom Princess representing the state of Missouri in the weeklong Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. Eastman School of Music student Grace Lee '06 won the silver prize in the first-ever David Oistrakh International Violin Competition held in the Ukraine.
