REDEFINING MOMENT--Bill Murphy says he is looking forward "with great enthusiasm and anticipation to just getting to work." At a welcome reception hosted by President Seligman on February 6 in Rush Rhees Library, the new VP for Communications (above with his wife, Lamar) addressed faculty and staff about his vision for building a University identify, invigorating internal communications, and raising the school's national profile.

Adapting to the rapidly changing face of communications, notes Murphy, is one of the biggest challenges facing Rochester and other schools today. "It's a moving target. We have to be nimble and learn as we go, but that's what makes it fun." (See related story.)
