In the first of a series of monthly messages to faculty and staff, Charles Murphy, associate vice president for human resources, outlined the program as one that will help employees become more conscientious health care consumers. He said that maintaining a range of affordable health care coverage options for employees continues to be a challenge for the University and other employers. "The goal of the Healthy Priorities communications centers around choosing the right coverage, asking more questions about how much goods and services cost, and taking advantage of preventive care and disease management programs to help you and the University better manage your health care," Murphy writes.
To supplement these ongoing messages, Human Resources has launched a Health Priorities Web site that includes quizzes, question-and-answer discussions, and newsletters as well as a glossary of terms and links to more information about University health care plans and other benefits.
