This summer, Dining Services in Wilson Commons has developed a menu with seasonal
specials and deals. The Pit, located on the ground floor of Wilson Commons,
offers a selection of food items including pizza, subs from Blimpies, grill
items, and the Home Zone station features daily specials including a pasta bar,
omelet bar, and other made-to-order items. The Pit also offers daily summer
specials, including Zweigle's red and white hots on Wednesdays and fish fry
on Fridays. The Common Ground Coffeehouse serves specialty beverages and desserts
including smoothies and milkshakes.
Don't forget to pick up a frequent buyer card from Blimpies. Purchase any
seven subs, sandwiches, or wraps and get the eighth for free. For more details,

The University Eye Institute optical shop is offering 30 percent off all Polo,
Ralph Lauren, and Chaps frames. This discount, on frames only, is in addition
to the optical shop's everyday 30 percent discount on prescription frames and
lenses available to University employees, their immediate family members, and
Rochester students. The shop is located at the Medical Center on the third floor

The sidewalk on the Susan B. Anthony Halls side of Library Road, from Dandelion
Square to Susan B. Anthony Drive, is scheduled to be closed until Monday, July
24. The sidewalk is being removed, the area graded, and a new handicap-accessible
sidewalk installed. Also scheduled for closure until July 24 is a portion of
the north- entrance stairs facing the Palestra to Wilson Commons for installation
of a new handicap-accessible ramp.

The 21st Annual Hackers & Whackers Employee Golf Tournament will be held
on Tuesday, August 1, at Shadow Lake Golf and Racquet Club. The $70 registration
fee includes golf, cart, lunch, dinner, and prizes. Full teams of four players
are required to register, and slots are available on a first-come, first-served

Golf tournaments, a "Ten Ugly Men" festival, food and music celebrations,
and more are on tap this summer at area locations to benefit the Golisano Children's
Hospital at Strong. The 8th Annual Otter Lodge Golf Tournament includes a wine-and-cheese
kick-off party at Otter Lodge on Monday, July 17, and 18 holes of golf on Tuesday,
July 18. This year's four-person scramble format tournament will be held on
Thursday, July 20, at both Shadow Lake and Shadow Pines courses, and Rochester's
Ten Ugly Men Festival's "King of Ugly" event on Saturday, July 22, will be held

The School of Medicine and Dentistry's Master of Public Health (MPH) program
is undergoing accreditation review by the Council on Education for Public Health
(CEPH), the national accrediting body for programs of its type. This review
encompasses mission, governance, organizational setting, resources, instructional
program, research, service, faculty, students, evaluation, and planning. The

A review team from CEPH will make a site visit September 25 to 26. Third-party
comments are welcome and will be accepted by CEPH until 30 days prior to the

Monday evening performances continue through August 7 as part of the Hopeman Memorial
Carillon Summer Recital Series. Concertgoers can bring blankets, lawn chairs,
