In his July 10 announcement, President Seligman cited Berk's leadership ability, distinguished track record, and commitment to excellence as decisive factors in naming him the new Medical Center CEO. "What I most sought was a strong leader for the Medical Center," said Seligman, "who had the right combination of energy, intelligence, strategic planning ability, financial responsibility, and dedication to the Medical Center and Rochester to further significantly strengthen our Medical Center.
