A message to faculty and staff

n addition to all the new faces filling the classrooms in a few weeks, the University community can expect find another new kid on the block this fall.

Beginning in early September, faculty and staff will receive a daily electronic newsletter. Delivered each morning to your e-mail address, it will feature a roundup of news items, announcements, updates, and more that you can quickly scan. Each news item links to the Web, so you'll be just a click away from accessing in-depth coverage or learning more details.

This newsletter, published by the Office of Communications, will replace Currents Digest, the existing counterpart, and is designed to be a comprehensive resource for those who work and teach here.

We know mornings are busy, and e-mail boxes fill quickly, but our goal is to provide you with a useful tool to help you stay engaged in University life. The newsletter will remind you about important dates and events. It also will allow you to sample the wide range of scholarship and research happening at the University and help you take advantage of the activities, such as free concerts and valuable workshops, available to faculty and staff.
