. . . more than 200 students and others—among them President Seligman and his wife, Friederike Seligman, assistant professor of Russian—gathered in the Hive in Wilson Commons to watch the televised debate. “Unexpected and unprecedented” is how Alex Pearlman ’07, Students’ Association president, described the turnout. “Many students were participating, sharing opinions, and discussing the issues,” says Pearlman. Before and after the debate, political scientists Gerald Gamm, Richard Fenno, and Richard Niemi analyzed the upcoming elections.
