Fall sports preview
Yellowjacket sports action resumes this fall with men's and women's cross country, field hockey, football, men's and women's soccer, and women's volleyball. Here's a preview of the upcoming Yellowjacket season: FootballNew head coach Scott Greene leads a Yellowjacket team with 16 returning starters. In 2005, Matt Bielecki '08 rushed for 1,124 yards, the second-highest total in school history. He scored seven rushing touchdowns and earned Second Team All-Liberty League honors. Aaron Molisani '07 threw for 1,451 yards and 14 touchdowns. Men’s SoccerRochester returns to the pitch after a stellar 2005 season when Yellowjackets were 16-1, won the UAA title at 7-0, and set a single- season record for wins. Five starters return to the lineup along with a bevy of veteran players. On September 8, St. Lawrence comes to Fauver Stadium in the first meeting since the NCAA game. Women’s VolleyballReturning from last season's ECAC Upstate NY Championship team are Sam Carr '07, who was MVP of the tournament, and Susan Johnson '07, who was named an Honorable Mention AVCA All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Field HockeyMidfielder Celinda Fletcher '07 was named First Team All-State, First Team All-Region, and Second Team All-Liberty League in 2005.
