Submit Work: Creative Excellence Award
Faculty, staff, and students are invited to submit a
creative work that examines issues of human values in health care by April
27. Three winners will receive the Award for Creative Excellence, a
$200 prize, and a plaque. The competition is sponsored by the
Interdisciplinary Cluster on Health and Human Values. For more details,

Medical Center Network Upgrade Continues
The Medical Center Network Upgrade project is under way
and will continue for the next three months. Data network equipment in
communications closets throughout the Medical Center will be replaced to
provide additional reliability and enhanced security. The work will be
scheduled during overnight hours and will only affect a limited area during
each outage. Look for “Network Alert” notices that will be
posted one week before scheduled work. Details are available to Medical

Laser Lab’s Summer Program for Teens
The Laboratory for Laser Energetics announces its
2007 High School Summer Research Program. About 12 students from area high
schools who have finished their junior year will spend eight weeks this
summer working on projects at the laboratory. Applications are due by March

Facilities Assessment
University Facilities and Services is conducting a
Facilities Condition Assessment that will continue through Friday, March
16. Facilities staff will be escorting an engineering firm to inspect all
rooms in Strong Memorial Hospital, School of Medicine and Dentistry, Helen
Wood Hall, Morey Hall, Meliora Hall, and Rush Rhees Library. For more

Arezzo Program Moves to Fall
Starting fall 2007, the popular Study Abroad program in
Arezzo, Italy, will be offered in the fall semester instead of the spring.
The change will allow students to take advantage of a variety of
educational and cultural opportunities. Applications are due March 1. For
