Tuition rates set for 2007-08
Undergraduates in the College will see an increase of
5 percent in their term bills for tuition, room, and board for the 2007-08
academic year. The Board of Trustees approved the new rate at its March
meeting. The increase will help pay for upgrades to campus facilities and
infrastructure while continuing investments in recruiting and maintaining
quality faculty.
Tuition costs for the College will rise 5.3
percent from $32,650 to $34,380 for the coming academic year. Room and
board costs will grow 4 percent from $10,192 to $10,600. The total charge
for River Campus undergraduates participating in the most popular board
plan will increase from $42,842 to $44,980.
Tuition for incoming freshmen at the Eastman School,
which stands at the top of national rankings among music schools, will
reflect a 12 percent increase from $28,320 to $31,720. This is the
result of a multiyear plan to enhance Eastman’s strength while
keeping its tuition comparable to that of other premier music schools.
Eastman sophomores, juniors, and seniors will see a 5 percent increase.
The 2007-08 rates for the University’s
professional schools are $31,200 for the School of Nursing, a 4 percent
increase; $37,200 for the School of Medicine and Dentistry, a 3.9 percent
increase; $36,840 for the Simon School, a 3 percent increase; and $31,650
for the Warner School, a 4 percent increase.
