Campus safety: Staying proactive
In light of recent events at Virginia Tech, the
University has made an effort to reassure students, staff, faculty, and
alumni that it’s maintaining the safest campus possible. In a recent
interview, Ronald Paprocki, senior vice president for administration and
finance, described the safety and emergency measures that are in place now,
and what steps the University is taking to boost preparedness in the
future.
“We are very proactive when it comes to safety
and in light of the recent tragedy, we are reviewing all of our plans. We
are examining our emergency procedures in conjunction with the Rochester
Police Department with a focus on communication. We are looking for ways to
quickly and reliably reach everyone in our community using appropriate
technology.”
