Count your blessings, count them again, and then use them wisely,” said Shirley Ann Jackson during the College Commencement ceremony on May 20. Jackson, the president of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, delivered the commencement address and received an honorary doctor of science degree.

Mick Zappia '07, who earned All-American honors in football this year, joins classmates during the recessional.

More than 5,000 guests filled the Eastman Quadrangle for the event. The morning ceremony was for the 1,101 candidates for bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the College. This year, the University conferred a total of 2,402 degrees in all its divisions during weekend ceremonies.
