Flu shots available
Free flu shots are available to faculty, staff, and
spouses enrolled in the University health care plans during a series of
clinics that begin Thursday, November 1. Employees and/or spouses who are
not enrolled in a University health care plan also are eligible to receive
the flu shot. Most major insurances can be billed directly by the School of
Nursing with no out-of-pocket expense to the employee, or an itemized
statement will be available for insurance purposes. For a list of flu shot

Nursing hosts doctoral open house
Nurses and other health care professionals can learn
more about doctoral nursing degree opportunities at the School of Nursing
during an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, at Helen
Wood Hall, 255 Crittenden Blvd. To RSVP, call 275-2375.
Host an international student for Thanksgiving
Each year the Rochester International Council, a
nonprofit organization that provides services to international students and
Department of State international visitors, invites all international
students in the Rochester area to join a family for a Thanksgiving dinner.
Faculty and staff are invited to host a student. Those interested should
contact Judy Weinstein at 275-8779 or jw@rifc.org.
Volunteers needed
Faculty, staff, and students are needed as volunteers
for the Finger Lakes First Lego League Tournament on Sunday, December 9,
from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteers can assist as team hosts, time and score

Finance training session
The finance department is offering two training
sessions on reading University ledgers, request for payment forms, and
travel and conference forms. The free sessions will be held on Monday,
November 5, at the Medical Center’s Whipple Auditorium from 1:30
to 4 p.m. and on Thursday, November 8, in Wilson Commons’ Gowen Room
from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Registration forms are available online at

Free depression screenings
On November 6, Strong Employee Assistance Program
is sponsoring free and anonymous depression screenings for all faculty and
staff. The mental health check-ups will be offered from 9 a.m. to 1
p.m. in the Six Nations Cafeteria (north end) and from noon to 3 p.m. in
Wilson Commons 121. For more information, call 475-0432.
