One of only a few women leading Fortune 500 companies, Mulcahy started at Xerox as a sales representative more than 30 years ago. She moved through the ranks to leadership roles in sales, human resources, customer operations, and then to the highest levels of management.
“Anne Mulcahy’s accomplishments as the leader of Xerox are remarkable. We are honored that she will present the College Commencement address,” says President Seligman. “Her personal successes at a company founded in Rochester—and one that has transformed the way business operates—makes her presence an exceptional occasion for the University.”
In August 2001, Mulcahy was named CEO of the company, and in January 2002 she was named chairman. Her numerous awards include the magazine Barron’s World’s Best CEO (2006), and being named to the Time 100—The People Who Shape Our World (2006), Forbes magazine’s Most Powerful Women list (2005, 2006), and Best Practice Institute’s World 25 Top CEOs List (2006).
