Humanities Project proposals due
To foster conversations across discipline and
department boundaries, faculty and staff are invited to submit Humanities
Project proposals for the academic year 2008.
Funded by President Seligman, the annual grants
promote humanistic studies at the University. Applicants are urged to
submit projects that showcase innovative research and alternative
perspectives, including initiatives that increase the faculty’s
profile while fortifying intellectual communities. Projects involving or
expanding awareness of research in the areas of Asian studies,
globalization, and digital humanities are particularly sought, but
proposals focused on other areas will be considered as well. Small grants
may be awarded for curricular initiatives that foster
cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary research at both the graduate
and undergraduate levels.
The Humanities Project is currently governed by the
chairs of departments in the humanities and humanistic social sciences and
the senior associate dean of humanities.
