Coat Drive Runs through December The Student National Medical Association is partnering with Refugee Student Alliance to hold a coat drive at Strong Memorial Hospital. They are asking for new or gently used coats, sweaters, gloves, hats, and scarves. Drop-off locations are at student services (G7644) at the Medical Center, the entrance to Miner Library, and near the condiments station at the main cafeteria on the hospital’s first floor. Simon’s Teach For America Scholarships The Simon Graduate School of Business is teaming up with Teach for America to offer up to five partial-tuition scholarships annually to graduates of the Teach for America program. The partial-tuition scholarships, worth a total of $20,000 over two years, will be based on academic merit. In addition, Teach for America alumni may be considered for other merit scholarships, and a two-year deferral option exists for students who are admitted to the program and choose to join Teach for America and complete the teaching requirement before pursuing a graduate business degree. Host an International Student for Thanksgiving Each year, Rochester International Council invites all international students in the Rochester area to join a family for a Thanksgiving dinner. Exhibit Honors Local Court Figure A permanent exhibit of seven photographic panels about the life of African-American activist Rocky Simmons is on view in the first-floor lobby of the Monroe County Hall of Justice. The series of panels draws ‘Warner Educator’ Online Catch up on alumni and student profiles and recent Warner accomplishments in the fall 2008 issue of the Warner Educator. Fundraisers Take Aim at Breast Cancer Breast cancer survivor Paula Bokman will host the annual “Keeping Hope Alive” fundraiser at 6 p.m. Saturday, November 15, at Calabria Restaurant on Pixley Road in Gates. The event, featuring wine tasting, grazing, music, and Entrepreneurship Newsletter Launches The Center for Entrepreneurship has launched a University-wide publication about entrepreneurship.
