Summer Science Program for Young Women
The Pre-College Experience in Physics (PREP) program is designed to encourage young womenís interest in all areas of science. The program exposes the participants to a series at physics concepts and to the work of professional scientists and engineers. PREP will run from July 6 to 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. This free, noncredit program is open to about 22 students who are completing 9th or 10th grade in any area high school. Clothing, School Supply Donations Needed
Refugee Student Alliance and Student National Medical Association are holding a spring drive March 16 through May 1. They are collecting clothing for all ages, shoes, curtains, school supplies, and toiletry items. Donations will go to Saintís Place, an organization in Pittsford that will distribute items to newly arrived refugees in Rochester. Drop-off locations at the Medical Center: House of Six Nations Cafeteria on the first floor, near the condiments station; the main entrance to Miner Library; and student services(G-7644). Weigh Well Program Begins March 31
Reach your weight goal in 2009 by joining the 10-week weight management program developed at the School of Nursing. The program provides guidance for employees seeking to shed pounds or maintain a healthy weight through nutrition, exercise, and behavioral health. The program begins Tuesday, March 31, and meets each Tuesday through June 2, from noon to 1 p.m. at the School of Nursing.
