Renew Parking Permits Online

On Tuesday, June 30, your current University parking permit will expire. The Parking Office is asking faculty, staff, and students to renew their permits online. Visit www.rochester.edu/parking and click on the “registration” link. Follow the on-screen instructions (you’ll need your Net ID and password). If you do not have Internet access, stop by the Parking Office to pick up renewal paperwork. All outstanding violations must be paid before registering for the 2009-10 parking year. Once you’re renewed, your 2009-10 permit will be mailed to the address the department has on file for you.

Eye Institute Looking for Study Participants

The University Eye Institute is looking for people who have discomfort from dry eye for a clinical trial comparing the effects of five over-the-counter artificial tear formulas. The study consists of five visits and includes compensation for eligible candidates. Call 276-8734 or e-mail eyetrials@urmc.rochester.edu for details. 

Tips for Coping with Work and Family Stress

The Employee Assistance Program and Well-U are offering a free stress management workshop to employees on Monday, May 18. “Coping with Work and Family Stress” will cover a variety of strategies for reducing stress and will help participants develop a personal stress management action plan. Learn about Medical Management Program at Simon

Learn more about Simon School’s M.S. Program with a concentration in medical management at an informational session from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, in the Louise Slaughter Room (1-9555) in the Medical Center. Reminder: Employee ID Badge Replacement Continues

University faculty, staff, and volunteers are required to get new ID badges by the end of June. The University-wide replacement project aims to protect personal information, update images and data displayed, and enhance University security by facilitating better control over pre-existing or expired “swipe access” privileges to facilities and labs. Mobile ID replacement teams will be traveling to various locations across the campuses until mid-June. See the schedule at www.rochester.edu/working/hr/badges/mobile_id/.

Fitness Class Helps Agility, Balance

The Medical Center’s Fitness and Wellness Center offers a weekly “Fit for Life” class for staff and faculty over age 50 on Tuesday mornings from 10:35 to 11:25 a.m. The class focuses on agility, balance, and maintaining muscle mass. Join the University Team for the Chase Corporate Challenge

Join more than 300 University employees at the 2009 JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge on Thursday, May 28. You can walk or run 3.5 miles with the University’s team and participants from other local companies. The University’s event starts at 7 p.m. at RIT. The $30 registration fee includes two T-shirts and a post-race meal at the UR tent. New Recycling Web Site

A new Web page (www.rochester.edu/sustainability/recycling.html) on the University’s sustainability site has specifics on recyclable materials, locations of recycling bins, and more.
