Students lend a helping hand

Wilson Day Photo

More than 800 Rochester freshmen volunteered at 42 of Rochester’s nonprofit organizations during the 21st annual Wilson Day on Monday, Aug. 31.

Wearing T-shirts with the city’s 175th Anniversary logo, the incoming class volunteered with faculty and staff at local schools, churches, community agencies, and neighborhoods. Participants got a glimpse of the many community service opportunities available in Rochester and learned about the city’s history through walking tours and a scavenger hunt.
