University surpasses $1.4 million United Way campaign goal
Faculty, staff, and retirees have helped raise $1,445,000—officially exceeding the University’s $1.4 million United Way campaign goal.
“This year’s campaign was particularly important as Eastman Kodak continues its transition to a much smaller company,” says Andrea Demeo, director of the University campaign. “The University really stepped up and showed that it cares about the Greater Rochester community.”
Participation rates rose in many areas this year, including at the Memorial Art Gallery, School of Nursing, and in the following departments: pharmacy, anesthesiology, the Nursing Practice, University Health Services, Strong Memorial Hospital materials management, mechanical engineering, and the Office of Graduate Medical Education.
The University’s United Way Office thanks all supporters who pledged to volunteer and give—especially those who became continuous pledge donors this year—as well as the many departmental volunteers who championed the effort on the front lines, garnering staff support.
