The winning teams were:
First place ($5,000): Roshal Patel, University of Rochester; Amanda Carney, Hobart and William Smith Colleges; Francis Sirch, Ursinus College; Anh Nguyen, Colby-Sawyer College; and Kyle Zaverton, Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
Second place ($3,000): Amy Esplain, University of Rochester; Robert Serenbetz, Hobart and William Smith Colleges; Nanzi Jiang, Hobart and William Smith Colleges; Richard Hershey, Ursinus College; and Margaret Feldman, Elmira College.
Third place ($2,000): Pierce Shultz, University of Rochester; Aoyu Liu, Hobart and William Smith Colleges; Danielle Tersaga, Ursinus College; Ryan Lumb, SUNY Geneseo; and German Michaylyszyn, Roberts Wesleyan College.
“This year, the students worked on a very challenging American Express case providing direction on the company’s future social media strategy and based on the overall quality of the presentations, it was clear that the students enjoyed the subject matter,” says Rebekah Lewin, Simon School executive director of admissions and administration.
Contestants also had an opportunity to hear from current Simon students about their prior experiences in this competition and how it helped prepare them for Simon’s MBA program.
