Faculty appointed to named positions
Several members of the faculty have been appointed to named and endowed positions. The appointments were approved by the Board of Trustees in January.
Ann Dozier ’77, ’96N (PhD), professor of public health sciences, has been named the Albert David Kaiser Chair of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. She was also appointed chair of the Department of Public Health Sciences, where she has served as interim chair since July 2014.
Sandhya Dwarkadas, professor and chair of the Department of Computer Science, with a secondary appointment in electrical and computer engineering, has been appointed the Albert Arendt Hopeman Professor of Engineering.
Stephen Hammes, chief of the division of endocrinology, professor of medicine, and adjunct professor of pharmacology and physiology, has been reappointed the Louis S. Wolk Distinguished Professor in Medicine at the School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Robert Foster, professor of anthropology and of visual and cultural studies, has been appointed the Richard L. Turner Professor.
Narayana Kocherlakota, most recently president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, has been appointed as the inaugural Lionel W. McKenzie Professor of Economics.
A. Joan Saab, associate professor of art history and of visual and cultural studies, has been appointed as the Susan B. Anthony Professor.
Michael Scott, professor of computer science, has been appointed the Arthur Gould Yates Professor of Engineering.
