UR Medicine’s Complex Care Center has opened Rochester’s first internal medicine practice dedicated to treating developmentally disabled patients and adults with childhood-onset diseases such as cystic fibrosis and sickle cell anemia. The 2,500-square-foot center at 905 Culver Road is designed and custom-built to meet the physical and intellectual needs of its patients. It improves access to greatly needed services, including dentistry from Eastman Institute of Oral Health.

The center will integrate several other services, including nutrition counseling and physical therapy; mental-health services are expected to be added in the near future. In addition to providing patient care, the center offers support and resources for providers.
