man pinning a pin on another man's jacket

Eric Hillsman from Parking and Transportation Services receives a pin from fellow veteran Peter Robinson, vice president and chief operating office of the Medical Center. University veterans were recognized for their military service and pinned with a new “Veteran Rocky” lapel pin during a March 3 event in Rush Rhees Library. The Equal Opportunity Office hosted the event, which also highlighted a new website,, aimed at connecting veterans and reservists to jobs at the University.

“Part of this initiative is to help people translate their military duties into what their civilian jobs might look like and to make sure veterans know the University is a welcoming environment,” says Tony Kinslow, associate vice president for human resources. “We know that veterans bring valuable contributions to our community.”
