Black Vendor Extravaganza
The African American Network @ the U of R is hosting a Black Vendor Extravaganza on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 11:00am – 2:00pm at the University of Rochester’s School of Medicine and Dentistry, LeChase Lounge, G-9576. This event is free and open to all university staff, faculty, students, and the public.
The event will feature nine minority owned businesses that include literature, handbags, clothing, art, make-overs, complimentary eye-lash extensions, jewelry, hair design and more. Highlighted entertainment will include poetry reading, line dancing, and gospel music provided by SHILOH Church of God In Christ.
Starting at 12 noon a complimentary Caribbean and Soul Food lunch buffet will be served until 1:15 p.m. to include: jerk chicken, ox tails, curry chicken, rice and peas, baked mac-n-cheese, green beans with smoked turkey, corn bread, potato salad, and oatmeal raisin cookies.
The African-American Network affinity group at the University of Rochester’s mission is to establish representation within the University community that will foster and strengthen workplace effectiveness and leadership abilities; enhancing professional development and promoting career growth and success within the University.
